COBALT-SULFATE-HEPTAHYDRATE

Features

Cobalt sulfate is a red crystal with light brown, soluble in water and methanol, but slightly soluble in ethanol and easily effloresces in air. Cobalt iii sulfate’s specific gravity is 1.948. The most common form of cobalt (II) sulfate is the cobalt sulfate heptahydrate, cobalt sulfate monohydrate and cobalt sulfate anhydrous.

Applications

Cobalt sulfate as starting material for making other cobalt salts; as a drying agent for paintings, cobalt pigment and glazed colored porcelain, additive of alkaline batteries and Co source for electroplating.Used as paint drier in paint industry. The ceramic industry is used as a colored porcelain glaze. The chemical industry is used to manufacture cobalt-containing pigments and as a raw material for the production of various cobalt salts. In the battery industry, it is used as an additive for alkaline batteries and lithopone. In addition, it is also used as a catalyst and analytical reagent.
Used for electroplating cobalt, making batteries, cobalt pigments, ceramics, enamel, glazes, catalysts, foam stabilizers, drier, etc.

What is the difference between cobalt nitrate and cobalt sulfate?
Cobalt sulfate is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula CoSO4, rose red crystal. It is a red powder after dehydration, soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol. Used in ceramic glazes and paint driers, also used in electroplating, alkaline batteries, production of cobalt-containing pigments and other cobalt products, and also used in catalysts, analytical reagents, feed additives, tire adhesives, lithopone additives, etc. Cobalt nitrate, with the molecular formula Co(NO3)2·6H2O, is a red prismatic crystal, easy to deliquescence, soluble in water and acid. It is mainly used as pigment, catalyst and ceramic industry. Inhalation can cause shortness of breath, coughing, etc. Oral administration can cause abdominal pain and vomiting. Inorganic oxidizing agent, which can promote the fire of any burning material in the fire scene.
