Brief Introduction of Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate

Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is commonly known as blue alum, gall alum and Copper Sulfate, is a kind of blu crystal. Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is stable at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, no deliquescene, will gradually weathering in dry air. When it is heared to 45 ℃, it will lose two molecules of water of crystallization, four molecules of crystal water at 110 ℃, and lose all of the water crystallization and obtain Anhydrous Copper Sulfate at 150 ℃. And Anhydrous Copper Sulfate is also easy to absorb water into Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate. We often use this feature to test whether certain organic liquid containing traces of moisture. And when the Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is heated to 650 ℃ high temperature, it can be decomposed into a black copper oxide, sulfur dioxide and oxygen.
Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate is a natural water sulfate, and is widely distributed sulfate minerals. It is a secondary copper sulfide minerals after being formed by the decomposition of oxygen. Gall Alum was produced in the oxidation zone of copper deposits, and often appears on the inner wall and pillar mine roadway, which is crystallized water from the mine.
